Frequently Asked Questions

1. What services am I receiving?

TeleMedVIP offers a number of different service levels to meet your unique needs. In order to highlight many of the differences in the service levels, please refer to the Services grid on the Services/ Pricing page for a side by side comparison. For example, some plans include different DNA screenings. At TeleMedVIP, you are not just receiving concierge services from your primary care physician but also some services that might not be included with the price elsewhere.

2. What are the advantages of joining?

TeleMedVIP offers the ultimate in convenience by embracing technology to make it easier for you to see your doctor wherever you are as long as you are connected to the internet. TeleMedVIP also offers a new way of approaching your health by utilizing an Anticipatory approach to medicine. We want to help you remain healthy by crafting a Preservation of Health plan that incorporates prevention and wellness activities that are designed to keep you healthy. We also help you connect with other specialists to provide holistic care and ensure coordination within your team. Our physicians maintain smaller caseloads so they can spend additional time with you and answer your questions. We empower you to take control of your health by providing the information you need to make decisions and making sure you understand the information being presented.

3. How is my medical record protected?

TeleMedVIP takes your privacy very seriously and adheres to all HIPAA requirements. As with other medical records, your chart is protected in a confidential and secure electronic medical record powered by Athenahealth. For more information about them, please visit  https://www.athenahealth.com/about.

4. Do you take my medical insurance?

TeleMedVIP is not currently contracted with insurance companies. Some plans do include a number of "check in" consultations throughout the year with your plan. Additional visits are billed to you at $75 per visit. We will provide you with documentation for your insurance company so you can submit to them for possible payment. For services through TeleMedVIP Physician Group, PLLC, this means that physicians are not having to spend time engaging in dialogue with your insurance company to get services authorized. This is also why your membership cost, depending on the plan, may include additional labwork, DNA, etc.

5. What happens after I join?

First, you will receive your receipt from your purchase. TeleMedVIP will then email you a welcome packet within 1-2 business days that provides step by step directions of what comes next. This will include signing up for the patient portal with the Athena EMR, downloading the TeleMedVIP app, standard medical intake paperwork, and important phone numbers. TeleMedVIP staff will assist you in scheduling your initial intake appointment with your primary care physician that you chose. These initial appointments will likely take 90-120 minutes so your physician can get to know you and vice versa. TeleMedVIP recommends the initial appointment be conducted in-person as opposed to face to face on a computer, tablet, or smart phone. If you prefer otherwise, please let us know so arrangements can be made.

6. Is everything conducted via telemedicine?

While the vast majority of your services may be provided via face to face meetings utilizing telemedicine, there might be times when you need to be seen at the office instead. We value your time and recognize the burden having to come into the office to be seen can cause with your family, employment, and other commitments. We want to give you back that time in your day to focus on what you would prefer to be doing and eliminate the time spent waiting in the lobby and the exam room.

7. Is this my Primary Care Physician (PCP)?

Everything that is currently provided by your PCP will be provided to you by your new TelemedVIP Physician Group, PLLC physician that you choose. If you want to maintain your existing PCP, we will work with the physician to coordinate our services with your existing care.

8. Is the app complicated or difficult to use for telemedicine appointments?

TeleMedVIP strives to provide easy-to-use innovative cutting edge technology to replicate the appointment as if it were taking place at the doctor's office. The App is available for download at the Play Store and App Store on your tablet or smart phone.
